September 25 – Know Your Camera/CAPA

Bring your camera(s) and manual(s) for the hands-on practice session on getting to know your camera. There is always something new to learn as you compare notes with your fellow photographers who carry the same brand of camera. We will also have a presentation about getting to know CAPA (Canadian Association of Photographic Art). Our club is a member and we submit images for CAPA competitions. CAPA is the organization that will provide training for the upcoming judging course. (Note: Be sure to get the coupon code from Marty before signing up for the Kelowna judging course. Our club MEMBERS get a price reduction. Whohoo!)

May 22 – AGM

A reminder that this Tuesday, May 22nd at 7pm is our AGM.  We need to have a quorum to be able run the meeting, which is at least 25% of the paid membership. Please come out and support the club by volunteering your ideas and your time.

All position are Vacant at the start of the meeting even if there are members willing to continue in them.  We are in need of a new President as Barb is not planning to continue in this Position next year. You can find a description of the work done for each position holder here.

If time allows, we will present member slide shows after the AGM, so bring any slide show or set of slides you wish to show on a USB stick. Please keep your slide show to about 5 minutes. Coffee, tea and goodies will be supplied.

First Meeting of 2018

January 2nd is the first meeting of 2018! Only a few flurries are expected tomorrow, so beat the cabin fever by coming out to hear about fellow members’ photography Tips and Tricks.

January 2nd is also the deadline for submissions for this month’s evaluation, so bring your prints to the meeting and submit you digital images by midnight. The monthly challenge is “Photo Noir”.

Christmas Pot Luck and Slide Shows

Tuesday, December 16  will be our Christmas Pot Luck party. The price of admission is your appy or dessert. Please email if you plan to attend and let her know if you are bringing any appy or a dessert so that she can plan what other supplies we will need.

We will be showing member slide shows that evening. If you have a slide show you would like to share, please email and let her know the length of your slide show so that she can plan the line up. (No more than 5 minutes long, please). Then bring your slide show on a USB stick on December 16.

See you there!
