Some interesting events coming up for COPS members……
HDR PRESENTATION – JANUARY 22ND
This coming Tuesday, Jan 22nd, club member Marty Marchyshyn will be giving us a presentation on HDR (High Dynamic Range). This is a fairly new concept in photography and we are seeing more of it in our monthly evaluation night photos. I for one am looking forward to his presentation.
WINTER WORKSHOP – MARCH 2ND
On Saturday, March 2nd, Michael Breakey will be hosting a workshop on winter photography. If you are having problems with trying to get your now to look white rather than gray and you would like to give sparkle to your photos, then this is the workshop for you. Michael is an expert in the art of winter photography. The workshop is held in the Big White area. This workshop is limited to 12 members, so if you are interested make sure you get your name down on the signup sheet. The signup sheet will be available this coming Tuesday on our registration table. This will be followed by a review night of the participants work on Tuesday, March 19th.
LIGHTING PRESENTATION – JANUARY 29TH
This evening is a special presentation on Lighting techniques and the use of flash by Gary Fong. Most of you will recognize Gary as the inventor of photographic lighting equipment. If you are interested in the use of lighting in your photographic applications, mark this one on your calendar.
PHOTO TRAVEL
Linda Quon is in the process or organizing a photo trip to travel the Oregon Coastline……She is looking for a third person to share trip costs for this photo opportunity. They plan on departing March 8th for a period of
7 – 10 days. If you are interested you are to contact Linda at foilan@shaw.ca
VERNON WINTER CARNIVAL
Just a reminder that a great photo opportunity exists with the coming of the Vernon Winter Carnival….everything from Hot Air balloons to ice sculptures. The events get underway on Friday, February 1st and run through to February 10th. While most of the events are held in Vernon, the ice sculpture contest is held at Silver Star.
