There will be no regular meeting October 30th. The COPS executive will meet to fine tune plans for the upcoming meetings. Members are welcome to come and observe the executive meeting, which will take place at the EECO Centre.
André Cabuche will review selected photos from the colour diet assignment to give us practical examples of last year’s presentation, “A Colour ‘Diet’ for Creating Better Photographs”.
The “Submission General Information” document on the website was missing the “Landscape” category and had the “People” category rather than “People and Pets”. This has been corrected.
My apologies for the errors — Joan Dolson
Bring your camera(s) and manual(s) for the hands-on practice session on getting to know your camera. There is always something new to learn as you compare notes with your fellow photographers who carry the same brand of camera.
We will also have a presentation about getting to know CAPA (Canadian Association of Photographic Art). Our club is a member and we submit images for CAPA competitions. CAPA is the organization that will provide training for the upcoming judging course. (Note: Be sure to get the coupon code from Marty before signing up for the Kelowna judging course. Our club MEMBERS get a price reduction. Whohoo!)
Marty will review the procedures for submitting images for evaluations, including new mat sizes for prints. A good review for experienced submitters AND new members to get ready for the October 2nd image submission deadline.
September 11 will be the first meeting for the 2018-19 year. Come and sign up for the year and network with your fellow photographers.
